India’s captain Rohit Sharma, alongside Virat Kohli and a few other key players, will begin their preparations on Monday for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, which kicks off on August 2.
As the Indian T20I squad, led by Suryakumar Yadav, completes their third and final T20I on Tuesday in Pallekele, Rohit, Kohli, and emerging talents like Harshit Rana will focus on their training sessions in Colombo, having arrived in the Sri Lankan capital on Sunday.
Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Kuldeep Yadav are set to dive back into action almost a month after their significant contribution to India’s T20 World Cup victory in the Americas.
The ODI series against Sri Lanka will also see Shreyas Iyer making his return to the national team. Iyer’s last limited-overs appearance for India was in December 2023, during a match against South Africa.
Additionally, the squad includes Delhi all-rounder Harshit Rana, who was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders’ IPL-winning team earlier this year.
These players will undergo their training sessions in Colombo under the guidance of India’s assistant coach, Abhishek Nayar.
The three ODIs will be held at the R Premadasa Stadium, with the opening match scheduled for August 2. The second and third ODIs will follow on August 4 and August 7, respectively.
