The Sri Lanka national cricket team has faced a significant setback as they prepare for an upcoming three-match ODI series against the Indian team at home. Fast bowlers Matheesha Pathirana and Dilshan Madushanka have been ruled out of the series due to injuries.
Matheesha Pathirana suffered a shoulder injury while fielding in the third T20I against India in Pallekele on July 30. Despite leaving the field early, he was unable to bowl during the match, which contributed to Sri Lanka’s series loss with a 0-3 result.
On the other hand, Dilshan Madushanka injured his hamstring during a recent practice session, compounding Sri Lanka’s challenges in the fast-bowling department. This setback comes as Dushmantha Chameera and Binura Fernando missed the T20I series due to illness, while Nuwan Thushara was sidelined due to a finger injury.
