Former Punjab Kings (PBKS) cricketer Shivam Sharma recently shared his preference for his favorite team and captain in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Sharma chose all-rounder Hardik Pandya as his top IPL captain, deliberately excluding iconic figures like Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli from consideration.
Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni are celebrated as two of the most successful captains in IPL history. Rohit led the Mumbai Indians (MI) to five IPL titles, while Dhoni matched this record by guiding the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to victory in the IPL 2023 season.
Notably, both Rohit and Dhoni were not in charge of their teams during the IPL 2024 season. Hardik Pandya took over as captain of the Mumbai Indians, and MS Dhoni stepped down from leading the Chennai Super Kings, passing the captaincy to opener Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Shivam Sharma recently engaged with fans in a Q&A session on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). During the interaction, he was asked to reveal his favorite IPL team and captain.
In his response, Sharma identified the Kolkata Knight Riders as his preferred team and chose Hardik Pandya as his favorite captain, intentionally leaving out notable figures such as Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli.
“Your favourite ipl team… Your favourite ipl captain except ro-msd-ko,” a fan asked.

Hardik Pandya secured an IPL trophy as captain when he led the Gujarat Titans (GT) to triumph in the 2022 season. He guided the team to the final again in 2023, but they fell short against CSK. Despite this, his tenure as Mumbai Indians’ captain in the current season proved less successful.

“Favorite cricket match.. except the latest wc final Also favorite innings of your favourite batter …” another fan asked.
“India vs Pakistan match in 2022 T20 World Cup And Virat Kohli’s knock of 82 not out in that same match,” Sharma replied.
Virat Kohli played a pivotal role in securing a dramatic win for India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). He remained unbeaten with 82 runs off 53 balls, featuring six fours and four sixes, guiding India to chase down a target of 160 despite a shaky start against their rivals.
Shivam Sharma appeared in five matches for the Punjab Kings in the IPL, making his debut against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) during the 2014 season.
