Jemimah Rodrigues, the Indian cricketer, is thrilled about cricket’s return to the Olympics for the LA 2028 Games, following the International Olympic Committee’s official confirmation of the sport’s inclusion.

In a recent Instagram update, Jemimah Rodrigues expressed her enthusiasm for cricket’s Olympic debut. She shared a photo of herself wearing the Indian Olympic team jersey and supporting Indian athletes at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Cricket Part of Los Angeles Olympics 2028
With cricket set to be included in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, there is growing excitement and anticipation. Teams such as India, Australia, Pakistan, and England are expected to compete, potentially elevating the sport’s profile to new heights. The focus will be on whether the Indian women’s team can build on their Asian Games success with a gold medal performance in 2028.
The Indian men’s team is also expected to be a strong contender for the gold medal. Under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, the team recently clinched the T20 World Cup, marking one of the sport’s major victories. Rohit is now aiming to secure the ICC Champions Trophy and the WTC final win in 2025. Currently, India leads the World Test Championship (WTC) points table, with Australia in second place. The two teams are set to face off in a Test series starting November 2024.
The series will begin with the first Test in Perth in November, followed by the second Test in Adelaide on December 6. Prior to the second Test, India will play a two-day fixture against the Prime Minister’s XI at Manuka Oval. The third Test will take place at the Gabba from December 14 to 18, with the Boxing Day Test scheduled at the MCG from December 26 to 30. The series will conclude with the final Test at the SCG from January 3 to 7, 2025.
In women’s cricket, Jemimah Rodrigues and the Indian team recently competed in the Women’s Asia Cup but fell to Sri Lanka in the final, with Sri Lanka securing the title for the first time.
