Pace bowlers Naseem Shah and Mir Hamza dismissed Bangladesh A for 122 runs on the first day of the four-day match. Pakistan will host nine Tests this season, with Bangladesh arriving in Rawalpindi for two WTC Tests.
Bangladesh A’s batters struggled against Naseem and Hamza after being put in by Pakistan Shaheens’ captain, Saud Shakeel, following a delayed start due to a wet outfield. Only Mahmudul Hasan Joy resisted, scoring 65, while the rest faltered on a pitch favorable to pace bowlers.
Naseem Shah, back from an injury sustained in last year’s Asia Cup, delivered a fiery performance with 3 for 24. His new ball partner, left-arm bowler Hamza, added 3 for 33, while Muhammad Rameez Junior claimed two wickets. Bad light curtailed the shortened day’s play, leaving Pakistan Shaheens at 2 for no loss with Saim Ayub and Muhammad Huraira unbeaten.
