Watch here how Brathwaite’s anger got the better of him in a T10 league:
A recent video featuring West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite has caused a stir in the cricketing world, casting the former star in a less favorable light.
Brathwaite is best known for his dramatic performance in the 2016 T20 World Cup final, where he hit four consecutive sixes to secure the West Indies’ second title in India.
Since then, Brathwaite has fallen out of favor with the West Indies team and now focuses on playing in various franchise leagues around the globe, in addition to his role as a broadcaster.
He is currently competing in the Max60 Caribbean League with the New York Strikers.
Carlos Brathwaite’s fiery outburst shocks fans in Max60 Caribbean League
Typically known for his composed presence on the field, Carlos Brathwaite surprised fans with an unusual outburst during a match against the Grand Cayman Jaguars.
The incident took place during the Super Three stage of the tournament when Brathwaite was controversially adjudged out against Josh Little.
In the ninth over, Little delivered a short ball that hit Brathwaite on the shoulder as he attempted a pull shot. The ball deflected towards wicketkeeper Ben Dunk, who made a spectacular catch.
Many were stunned when the on-field umpire declared Brathwaite out, apparently believing the ball had touched his glove.
Clearly frustrated by the decision, Brathwaite lingered on the field for a moment before reluctantly heading back to the pavilion.
The real drama erupted then. Overcome by anger, Brathwaite threw his helmet out of the playing area and tossed his bat upon reaching the dugout. This rare display of temper from Brathwaite has left both fans and experts astonished.
