The Indian cricket team has been dealt a massive blow in the ongoing fifth Test against Australia. According to reports from RevSportz, Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out for the remainder of the match at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Bumrah, the Indian skipper and premier fast bowler, sustained an injury midway through Day 2 of the Test. He walked off the field after lunch and did not return to the ground thereafter.
Jasprit Bumrah Ruled out of Remaining Sydney Test
In the opening session, Jasprit Bumrah left the field for about 30 minutes but returned to bowl in the second innings. However, he managed just one over before visibly experiencing discomfort. His pace dropped significantly, with his deliveries clocking around the 120s, far below his usual standards.
Following this, Bumrah was seen leaving the Sydney Cricket Ground, heading for scans in a car, as captured by broadcasters. This raised speculations about his availability for the remainder of the match.
While the exact nature and severity of the injury are still unclear, reports suggest that Bumrah is unlikely to take any further part in the ongoing fifth Test. The Indian skipper will not be returning to the field for the second innings at the SCG.

Bumrah bowled 10 overs in the first innings, claiming two crucial wickets. On Day 2, the Indian captain made an impact early by dismissing Usman Khawaja overnight, following a battle with Sam Konstas, and later removing Marnus Labuschagne to give India a strong start with the ball.
Having featured in all five games of the series, Bumrah has bowled 908 deliveries so far. With him sidelined during the first innings, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Nitish Kumar Reddy rose to the occasion, helping India dismiss Australia for 181 runs and taking a slender lead of 4 runs.
