On the 25th death anniversary of his father Ramesh Tendulkar, Sachin Tendulkar commemorated the occasion by sharing a heartfelt tribute. He reminisced about how his father’s wisdom continues to shape not only his life but also the lives of countless others. It’s worth noting that Ramesh Tendulkar’s demise in 1999, which occurred during the ODI World Cup, compelled Sachin to abruptly depart from the tournament to attend his father’s final rites in India.

Following his return to the mega event, the Indian cricketer showcased an outstanding performance, achieving a remarkable century. Expressing his emotions through a heartfelt Instagram post, Tendulkar shared that his father’s wisdom and benevolence remain a guiding force in his life. Recalling the 25th anniversary of his father’s passing, Tendulkar described the poignant experience of revisiting the familiar surroundings, evoking a sense of his father’s continued presence. Despite the passage of 25 years since his father’s departure, Tendulkar expressed how deeply he still feels the absence and the enduring impact of his father’s teachings.

Notably, in his biopic “Sachin: A billion dreams”, Tendulkar revealed how his wife, Anjali, flew from India to London to inform him about his father’s death. As a result, the Master Blaster had to miss his team’s second game against Zimbabwe which India lost by three runs.

Following a brief hiatus, the iconic batsman returned to represent his nation in India’s encounter against Kenya. Making a triumphant comeback, Tendulkar delivered a spectacular performance, crafting an unbeaten innings of 140 runs from just 101 deliveries, embellished with 16 boundaries and three maximums, consequently clinching the Player of the Match accolade.

During his remarkable innings, the cricketing legend paid homage to his father by dedicating his century to him. Upon reaching the milestone, Tendulkar removed his helmet, gazing skyward in a poignant tribute. This gesture became a customary ritual for Tendulkar thereafter, as he continued to honor his father at each significant juncture of his illustrious career.

Tendulkar bid adieu to the game as the most prolific batsman in the annals of international cricket, boasting a staggering tally of over 34,000 runs and an unprecedented 100 international centuries to his credit.
