KKR’s fast bowler Vaibhav Arora returns home triumphant after clinching his maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) title. Arora was greeted with great fanfare upon his arrival in his hometown of Ambala.
The 26-year-old played a crucial role for KKR throughout the IPL season, notably shining in the final against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Chepauk. His standout moment came when he dismissed Travis Head with a remarkable out-swinger while leading the bowling attack with the new ball. Across 10 matches, he secured 11 wickets at an average of 25.09 and an economy rate of 8.24.
Arora’s stellar performance in the IPL earned him a hero’s welcome upon returning home, as evidenced by a heartening video shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
Returning to the squad ahead of the 2023 season, he formed a formidable partnership with Mitchell Starc during powerplay overs, proving instrumental in securing crucial dismissals.
Making a significant impact throughout the season, his standout performance came against the Delhi Capitals, where he secured a three-wicket haul, including the prized wicket of Rishabh Pant.
Continuing his stellar form, he demonstrated his prowess once more against the Chennai Super Kings, clinching two crucial wickets despite KKR’s loss by seven wickets.
In the high-stakes Qualifier 1 against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Arora, alongside Starc, set the tone early, dismissing the in-form Abhishek Sharma.
Maintaining his composure in the final showdown, he showcased remarkable economy, conceding only 24 runs in three overs while claiming the prized scalp of Travis Head.
After a dominant show by the new-ball pacers, KKR managed to restrict SRH to 113 runs and won the match by eight wickets.
