AB de Villiers gave a strong response to a fan who mocked Babar Azam for his English proficiency. The former South African captain recently conversed with the Pakistan skipper, discussing his career, the upcoming T20 World Cup, and his cricketing journey so far.
As Babar Azam shared his experience with AB de Villiers, a user decided to poke fun at the expense of the Pakistani batting star. Pakistani cricketers occasionally face social media trolling for their lack of fluency in English, and this user chose to mock Babar Azam’s English skills.
“ABD hardly control his laughing. Babar Azam speaking in English,” wrote the user.
AB de Villiers noticed the comment and he made sure to respond to it. The South Africa captain came up with a brilliant response to defend Babar Azam as he wrote: “His English is infinitely better than my Urdu. And his batting is excellent, which is what matters more, I believe.”
Babar Azam on the T20 World Cup:

Ahead of the tournament, the Pakistan captain expressed that he is feeling positive and not preoccupied with the future. He also mentioned that he and his teammates are confident about their performance in the prestigious event.
Pakistan performed well in the last two T20 World Cup editions, reaching the semifinals in 2021 and finishing as runners-up in 2022. This year, they are aiming for their second T20 World Cup title and their first since 2009.
