South Africa faces a challenging opponent in the Netherlands for their second Group D match in New York on Saturday, following their victory against Sri Lanka in the opening match.

The Proteas might still remember their defeat against the Dutch in last year’s 50-over World Cup, making this encounter significant for them.

Led by Aiden Markram, South Africa aims for a reversal this time. An encouraging sign from their win over Sri Lanka was the impressive performance of Anrich Nortje, who took four wickets on a lively New York pitch.

With Kagiso Rabada, Nortje forms a formidable bowling combination, crucial against a Netherlands team that started their campaign with a six-wicket win over Nepal.

The Dutch side, with frontline batter Max O’Dowd’s half-century and leading pacers Tim Pringle and Logan van Beek’s three wickets each, looks poised for another strong showing to challenge their higher-ranked opponent.
