Following their triumphant performance in three matches of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 held in New York, Team India has now touched down in Florida for their final group-stage clash against Canada. A video shared on the official media handle of the Board of Control for Cricket in India captures Mohammed Siraj and Yuzvendra Chahal engaged in conversation during their flight.
Currently leading the Group A standings with three wins under their belt, India is geared up to face Canada after securing a convincing seven-wicket victory against the USA. With an unblemished record so far, the Men in Blue have advanced to the Super Eights stage of the tournament.
Recapping India’s recent match against the USA, skipper Rohit Sharma’s decision to bowl first proved fruitful as the USA posted a challenging total of 110/8. Notable performances from Nitish Kumar and Steven Taylor kept the USA’s innings competitive. However, India’s bowlers, led by Arshdeep and Hardik Pandya, along with contributions from Axar Patel, contained the opposition’s scoring rate.
In the pursuit of 111 runs, India faced early setbacks with the dismissals of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Rishabh Pant. However, a resilient partnership between Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube, worth 72 runs, steered India to victory. Saurabh Netravalkar emerged as the standout bowler for the USA, while Arshdeep’s impactful performance earned him the ‘Player of the Match’ accolade.
