You have to change according to the situation says  Suryakumar Yadav

The right-handed batsman, renowned for his aggressive batting style, has demonstrated flexibility on the challenging surfaces in New York, where conditions required a more cautious approach. However, he expresses confidence that the pitches in the Caribbean will be more conducive to his natural attacking game.

Yadav’s pivotal innings, scoring an unbeaten 50 runs from 49 deliveries against the USA, highlighted his adaptability, situational awareness, and composure under pressure in demanding conditions. His unbeaten half-century played a crucial role in India’s triumph over the USA in New York.

Speaking to the media in Barbados, Suryakumar Yadav stated:“If have you been number one for two years, you should be able to bat in different conditions and change the game as per the needs of the team. That displays good batsmanship and that is what I try. You have to be very smart how you want to extend your innings. You have to change according to the situation, what team demands at that moment and talk to your partner who is inside, calm your nerves down and then take the innings ahead.”

In addition, he remarked that the pitches in the Caribbean are superior to those in the USA. Yadav also emphasized that his proficiency lies in sweeps and reverse sweeps, which he has diligently practiced during training sessions for the upcoming Super-8 matches in the West Indies.

Virender Sehwag commends Suryakumar Yadav’s strategic approach at ICC T20 World Cup 2024 conditions
Responding to Yadav’s comments, Virender Sehwag lauded the Indian batsman for his proactive tactics in adapting to match conditions during the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

The former Indian opener expressed confidence that Yadav’s capability to adjust to diverse conditions and deliver crucial performances will be pivotal for Team India as they strive for success in the Super-8 phase.

Sehwag, also a commentator, emphasized that when a player articulates their game plan and executes it effectively on the field, it demonstrates a deep understanding and dedication. Drawing from his own playing experience, he highlighted how such statements can positively influence team dynamics and bolster both the player and the team as a whole.

Sehwag said on Cricbuzz Live: “It’s a good thing that when the player himself says that he should play according to the situation and conditions, then it stays in the mind. Then if he gets out on a bad shit, then the 14 people sitting outside would say, ‘Oh, he talked about the situation and conditions and now how he is playing’.

When a batter himself says that I think we should play like this on this ground, on this wicket, this should be done, this game should be planned, and then he does it in the match. So that’s a good thing that the statement given by Suryakumar Yadav in the press conference. It’s a good thing that he said that I will play according to the situation and conditions, and he should do it. So that’s a good sign for India that he is adjusting to the conditions.”
