Before India’s upcoming second Super Eight match in the 2024 T20 World Cup against Bangladesh, former India opener Navjot Singh Sidhu expressed confidence that Virat Kohli will bounce back stronger following a series of setbacks in the initial games.
“If a powerful person doesn’t showcase his power, then that person does get hurt, and should get hurt,” said Navjot Singh Sidhu about the dip in Kohli’s form on Star Sports.
“I will learn only after I fall,” he added.
“Mujhe lagta hai Virat Kohli mentally itne strong hain ke woh abhyaas se apni galtiyon pe haavi hona chaahte hain (I feel Kohli is mentally so strong that he wants to overpower his mistakes through training). He wants to overcome those (mistakes),” he said.
Kohli, who was the highest run-scorer in the 2022 T20 World Cup, has faced difficulties in finding form in this year’s tournament held in the USA and West Indies. He has accumulated only 29 runs across four innings, notably registering three scores in single digits.
