Over 30,000 enthusiastic fans reportedly gathered at this iconic venue to cheer for the Indian superstars who clinched the T20 World Cup 2024 title by defeating South Africa in a thrilling final.
The atmosphere at Wankhede Stadium resembled a vibrant party scene, with the DJ playing a mix of songs spanning various genres. From the lively beats of Vengaboys’ hit “To Brazil” to the spirited tones of the nation’s unofficial sports anthem “Chak de India,” the stadium’s speakers resonated with infectious energy.
As the Indian squad disembarked from the open bus and stepped onto the ground, they couldn’t resist joining in the festive spirit. Every member of the victorious World Cup squad enthusiastically danced at Wankhede, creating an electric atmosphere that captivated the crowd.

The two-hour open bus parade, initially delayed by two hours, commenced from Nariman Point at 7:30 pm and culminated at Wankhede Stadium. Despite the short distance, typically covered in five minutes, the journey stretched to over an hour as players soaked in the unforgettable evening amidst overwhelming affection from their dedicated fans.
Prior to their Mumbai parade, the team landed in Delhi to a grand reception before joining Prime Minister Narendra Modi for breakfast at his residence. During this gathering, captured in a brief video shared by the Prime Minister’s Office, the players were seen engaged in conversation while seated in a circle around Modi.
For this special occasion, the players donned customized jerseys prominently displaying the word ‘CHAMPIONS’ in bold letters on the front.
