As per a report by news agency ANI, the BCCI intends to relocate their Champions Trophy matches to either Sri Lanka or Dubai instead of Pakistan. It is anticipated that the BCCI will formally approach the International Cricket Council (ICC) to explore these alternative venues.
“Indian Cricket team is unlikely to travel to Pakistan for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. BCCI will ask ICC to host matches in Dubai or Sri Lanka,” BCCI sources to ANI.
India and Pakistan have refrained from bilateral series since the 2012-13 season, citing strained relations. However, they continue to encounter each other in events like the Asia Cups and ICC tournaments. Their latest clash occurred during the T20 World Cup 2024 in New York, where Rohit Sharma’s team clinched an exhilarating six-run triumph over Pakistan.
