Young Indian cricketer Riyan Parag found himself embroiled in a heated dispute with YouTuber Maxtern on Instagram. Parag, who recently made headlines by earning a spot in India’s tour of Zimbabwe, marked his international debut during the first T20I match against Zimbabwe. This achievement notably made him the first male cricketer from Assam to represent India at the international level.

However, Parag’s debut innings was brief as he was dismissed for just 2 runs. Subsequently, he didn’t get a chance to bat in the next match and was eventually dropped from the squad for the third game, as India’s victorious World Cup players returned to reclaim their spots.

Riyan Parag engages in a major feud with YouTuber Maxtern, then blocks him on Instagram.

In a recent event, YouTuber Maxtern, also known as Sagar Thakur, mentioned Riyan Parag in a meme with the comment, “@riyanparag dekh bhai isko.”

Interestingly, Riyan Parag took to Instagram to message Maxtern, checking in to see if everything was okay. When Parag inquired about the comment, Maxtern clarified that he had simply tagged him in a meme and nothing more. He further emphasized that he hadn’t made any additional comments.

Following this incident, Riyan Parag promptly blocked Maxtern on Instagram, effectively concluding the matter. This isn’t the first instance where Maxtern has found himself in a contentious situation. Previously, he was reportedly involved in a physical altercation with fellow social media influencer Elvish Yadav, resulting in multiple injuries.

Riyan Parag showcased his prowess in IPL 2024 with an outstanding performance. Finishing as the third-highest run-getter overall, he closely trailed behind Virat Kohli and Ruturaj Gaikwad. Across 15 matches in the season, Parag amassed 573 runs at an impressive average of 52.09 and a striking strike rate of 149.22. Batting primarily at No. 4 for Rajasthan Royals, he crafted four half-centuries and played pivotal roles in numerous match-winning innings.

While Parag has long been recognized for his cricketing talent, previous IPL seasons did not see him fully realizing his potential. Enduring heavy criticism on social media due to underwhelming performances, he remained steadfast and continued to excel in domestic cricket for Assam.

During the Ranji Trophy 2023-24 season, he etched his name in history by slamming the tournament’s second-fastest century, achieving the milestone in just 56 balls against Chhattisgarh. His innings of 156 off 86 deliveries featured 11 boundaries and 12 maximums, highlighting his explosive batting prowess.

Beyond his batting abilities, the 22-year-old also contributes as a capable spin bowler, adding versatility to his game. Regarded as a promising prospect for the Indian team, Parag’s recent exploits underscore his potential to be a mainstay in international cricket for years to come.
