Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali has recently mocked PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi regarding his earlier statement about the need for a “major surgery” in the Pakistan cricket team following their premature exit from the T20 World Cup 2024.
Naqvi had indicated that any decisions would be made after a thorough evaluation rather than impulsively.
“People are asking about surgery but one should not take any decision while you are angry. Whoever made wrong decisions in the selection committee will also be held accountable,” Naqvi had said as quoted by ARY News.
Hassan Ali takes a swipe at PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi with pointed remarks.
During a recent interview with a local sports journalist, Hassan Ali responded to Mohsin Naqvi’s comment about a ‘major surgery’ for the Pakistan cricket team by questioning whether they have the necessary tools for the operation.
“We need to see if we have the scissors or the surgical equipment to do the surgery. If we have, then we can do the surgery,” Hassan Ali said.
Hassan Ali, currently not a regular in Pakistan’s squad, missed out on selection for the T20 World Cup 2024 despite being considered earlier. Experienced pacers like Mohammad Amir were chosen ahead of him.
He had been in contention leading up to the tournament and received a call-up for the series against Ireland. However, his performance in the series decider, where he conceded 42 runs without taking a wicket in three overs, did not sway the selectors. Consequently, he was omitted from the squad and opted to play for Warwickshire in County cricket.
