Following his captaincy in India’s T20 World Cup 2024 victory, Rohit Sharma was recently spotted enjoying a break at Wimbledon.

After bidding farewell to T20 international cricket following his leadership in securing victory alongside Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja, the Indian skipper found himself at Wimbledon. Interestingly, former Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik also shared his presence at the iconic tennis tournament on his official social media handle.

Following Rahul Dravid’s tenure as Head Coach of the Indian team, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced Gautam Gambhir as his successor. Gambhir is poised to begin his tenure during India’s upcoming white-ball tour of Sri Lanka, featuring a three-match T20I and ODI series.

While preparations for the 50-over series continue, Rohit Sharma’s availability remains uncertain amidst reports suggesting he and Virat Kohli have requested a break. Sharma has been a fixture in the Indian lineup since the Test series against South Africa, featuring prominently in the 2024 Indian Premier League and the subsequent T20 World Cup.

India’s tour of Sri Lanka commences on July 26, featuring T20Is in Pallekelle followed by 50-over matches in Colombo, though the touring squad is yet to be finalized.

With Gautam Gambhir appointed as Head Coach, the Indian Cricket Board’s next steps regarding the coaching staff remain uncertain. Reports suggest Abhishek Nayar is likely to assume the role of batting coach, while names like Lakshmipathy Balaji and Morne Morkel are floated as potential bowling coaches.

A looming concern revolves around India’s potential participation in the 2025 Champions Trophy, slated to be held in Pakistan. Given current political tensions, approval from the Indian government for Team India’s participation seems unlikely.
