We strongly believe that under Jhulan’s mentorship, the team will reach greater heights. It’s a fantastic opportunity for the youngsters to pick Jhulan’s brains and learn from her experiences to become better cricketers themselves. We would like to wish her all the best, and look forward to seeing her in the TKR setup soon,” Venky Mysore said in the same statement.
So far there are three teams in the CPL, namely the Knight Riders, Barbados Royals, and Guyana Amazon Warriors’s teams. The Barbados Royals women led by Hayley Mathews are the defending champions of the tournament. The tournament will be played from August 21 to 29 with many players who play in the WP playing here as well.
“We were delighted with the reception the first WCPL received in 2022 and we cannot wait for the start of an expanded tournament this year. These hugely talented players deserve the best chance to showcase their talents and the WCPL is the perfect stage for this. Women’s cricket is growing rapidly, and it is pleasing for CPL to play a significant part in that growth” said WCPL CEO Pete Russell ahead of the start of a new season.
