Senior players Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah are expected to sit out of India’s upcoming white-ball series in Sri Lanka, which comprises three T20Is and three ODIs.
Meanwhile, India’s captain Rohit Sharma is likely to return for the ODIs. Following India’s victory in the T20 World Cup 2024 in Barbados last June, Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from T20Is. Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja also declared their retirements from the shortest format after India’s triumph.
Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah are set to be rested for India’s Sri Lanka tour.
Both Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah had requested time off during India’s tour of Sri Lanka, and it appears unlikely that the board will include them in the squad for the upcoming series.
