The final match, where the Men in Blue secured a thrilling seven-run win over South Africa at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, on June 29, was a moment of national pride. However, their return journey was delayed due to Hurricane Beryl, leaving them stranded in Barbados for several days before their arrival in Delhi on July 4.
Upon landing, the team was warmly received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, followed by a triumphant procession in Mumbai. The celebratory open-bus parade from Marine Drive to Wankhede Stadium was a spectacle that captured the hearts of fans, culminating in a grand felicitation ceremony at Wankhede Stadium amidst an atmosphere of joy and gratitude.
