Following the conclusion of the T20 World Cup matches in the US, the Indian cricket team is now preparing for the Super 8 phase of the competition. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released a video showcasing the journey of the Rohit Sharma-led squad from the US to Barbados. India all-rounder Hardik Pandya expressed his excitement upon arriving in Barbados, highlighting the anticipation of enjoying the beaches, sunshine, and the clear blue waters while participating in this prestigious tournament among great people.

The BCCI’s uploaded video showcased India head coach Rahul Dravid’s visit to the Canadian cricket team after their T20 World Cup group-stage match ended in a washout on Saturday, June 15. Dravid was warmly welcomed into the Canada dressing room where he received an official jersey adorned with signatures from all the Canadian team members. The former India captain also addressed the team with a speech during his visit.
“Just thanks a lot. Firstly, just want to acknowledge and appreciate the fantastic contribution that you guys have made to this tournament. I think all of us recognise the struggles and the challenges that all of you have to do to be able to play this sport. It’s not easy,” Dravid said.
“I understand that having played actually as a cricketer in Scotland, way back, I think in 2003, so I know what the struggle is like for an associate country. So you guys, honestly are an inspiration to all of us. To show us that we love the game, truly, the kind of sacrifices, you guys are willing to make, to play this tournament. All I will say is that keep taking it forward. You guys are inspiring, not only other people but I’m sure you’re inspiring young boys and girls in your own countries,” he added.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) shared a video on Instagram featuring Rahul Dravid delivering an inspiring speech in the Canadian dressing room. The post highlighted Dravid’s motivational words to the team.
India is scheduled to play their next match in the Super Eight stage of the T20 World Cup 2024 against Afghanistan on Thursday in Barbados.
