On Tuesday, August 13, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed a revised schedule for the Indian men’s cricket team’s home season.
The opening T20I of the three-match series against Bangladesh, originally slated for October 6 at Dharamsala’s Himachal Pradesh Cricket Stadium, will now be held at Gwalior’s Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium. This venue change is due to planned upgrades and renovations in the dressing rooms at Dharamsala.
The BCCI also revealed a swap in the venues for the first two T20Is against England. MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, initially set to host the first T20I, will now hold the second T20I on January 25, 2025.
Meanwhile, Eden Gardens in Kolkata will host the opening T20I on January 22, 2025. This change comes after a request from Kolkata Police due to existing Republic Day commitments.
India’s home season kicks off next month with a two-Test series against Bangladesh, starting September 19 in Chennai, followed by the second Test from September 27 to October 1 in Kanpur.
The T20I series against Bangladesh will take place in Gwalior, Delhi, and Hyderabad on October 6, 9, and 12, respectively. Afterward, India will face New Zealand in a three-Test series, with matches scheduled in Bengaluru, Pune, and Mumbai.
Following their home Test series, India will head to Australia for a five-match Test series beginning November 22 in Perth.
In January, the Indian team will take on England in five T20Is and then participate in the ICC Champions Trophy, which will be held in Pakistan.
