India, Australia, West Indies, South Africa, and Afghanistan have secured their places in the Super Eight stage of the 2024 T20 World Cup. Among the 20 participating teams, six have been eliminated, leaving nine teams still vying for a spot in the next round.
Tonight, two of these hopeful teams, co-hosts USA and Ireland, will face off. A victory for the USA would not only guarantee them a place in the Super Eight but also eliminate Ireland and former champions Pakistan from contention.
The match is scheduled to take place in Lauderhill, Florida, also known as The Sunshine State. However, recent days have seen heavy rainfall, resulting in flooded streets, submerged neighborhoods, and floating vehicles, as seen in viral social media posts.
The rain could potentially impact the USA vs Ireland T20 World Cup Group A match. If the match is washed out, both teams will earn a point. In such a scenario, the USA would finish their group matches with five points, securing their qualification for the Super Eight stage.
Florida Weather For June 14
Rain is predicted for Friday, with the match scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM local time (8 PM IST). Currently, there’s a 39 percent chance of rain at the toss time (10 AM), but this probability is expected to increase as the day progresses.
In the event of clear weather, a five-overs-a-side contest could still occur. In this scenario, a victory for the USA would secure their advancement. However, if Ireland emerges victorious, it would keep all four teams in contention, with net run-rate potentially becoming a deciding factor.
