Chris Gaffaney from New Zealand and Rodney Tucker from Australia have been selected as the on-field officials for the T20 World Cup’s second semifinal between India and England in Providence, Guyana on Thursday.
England, the reigning champions, secured their spot in the semifinal with a convincing 10-wicket victory over USA, while India maintained their strong form in the Super 8s phase by defeating Australia by 24 runs.
Joel Wilson will serve as the TV Umpire for this rematch of the 2022 semifinal, which England won. Paul Reiffel will be the fourth umpire. Jeffrey Crowe of New Zealand has been appointed as the match referee.
In the first semifinal between Afghanistan and South Africa in Tarouba, Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday, Richard Illingworth from England and Nitin Menon from India will be the on-field umpires.
Afghanistan earned their historic semifinal berth with an eight-run win against Bangladesh under the DLS method, displacing Australia. South Africa aims for their first-ever T20 World Cup final appearance.
Richie Richardson of West Indies has been appointed as the match referee for the first semifinal.
