In IPL 2024, mentor Gautam Gambhir delivered a powerful message after the Knight Riders secured the title by defeating the Sunrisers by 8 wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Gautam Gambhir was ecstatic and energized after KKR’s IPL 2024 victory. On Sunday, May 26, Shreyas Iyer’s team defeated the Sunrisers by 8 wickets in the final at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Gambhir, who joined KKR as a mentor for the 2024 season, experienced immediate success. Previously, in 2012 and 2014, he helped the Knight Riders achieve recognition by winning the title as a player.

The 42-year-old Gambhir has maintained his remarkable streak with KKR since joining in 2011. Following the team’s third title win, the veteran posted a powerful message on his ‘X’ account, saying, “Dare to Dream!!”

After choosing to bowl first, KKR dismissed SRH for 113 in 18.3 overs. With SRH losing 3 wickets during the powerplay, the Knight Riders never let them recover. KKR chased the target with 9.3 overs remaining.

Shreyas praised Mitchell Starc for bowling a brilliant delivery to dismiss Abhishek Sharma and taking 2 wickets. The captain also commended Andre Russell and Venkatesh Iyer for their performances in the final.

“Congrats to SRH for the way they played throughout. It was a high-pressure game and Mitchell Starc had been so good off-field. Phenomenal work ethic, something to learn for youngsters,” Shreyas said in the post-match presentation ceremony.

“Russell has got a magic wand, and he is looking towards me to bowl. In the majority of the games he gave us breakthroughs. Venkatesh Iyer made things easy for us,” he added.

Russell took 3 vital wickets, while Venkatesh remained unbeaten with 52 runs off 26 balls during the run chase. Venkatesh also formed a critical 91-run partnership with Rahmanullah Gurbaz for the second wicket.
