“We are one of the best countries in the world when it comes to resources and facilities, and we continue to produce brilliant, and the current squad is no different,” Morgan said.

The highly anticipated T20 World Cup 2024 is set to commence on June 2, with the USA and the West Indies sharing hosting duties. With teams gearing up to compete fiercely for the coveted title, defending champions England face heightened expectations. Their triumphant victory over Pakistan in the 2022 final secured their second T20 World Cup title, and now, they aim to repeat their success on the West Indian and American soil this year.

Following a disappointing display in the ODI World Cup 2023, where England’s underwhelming performances saw them exit at the group stage, the team enters the T20 World Cup amidst scrutiny. Former England captain Eoin Morgan addressed the mounting pressure on the team and hinted at potential leadership changes should they falter in the upcoming tournament.

“It would be very close to the end of leadership; I don’t think that is being harsh. Even when I was captain, the level of expectations on your shoulders, given the quality of players, both in the domestic game and in the changing room at your disposal, leads to that expectation,” Eoin Morgan told Sky Sports.

“We are one of the best countries in the world when it comes to resources and facilities, and we continue to produce brilliant, and the current squad is no different. Ultimately, your job is to get the best out of that team for the tournament, and I think that it is a balanced squad,” he added.

It’s noteworthy that England will kick off their T20 World Cup journey against neighboring Scotland. The two teams are set to clash at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, on Tuesday, June 4th.
