With Gautam Gambhir joining the coaching ranks, the onus now falls on him to steer the team towards its future goals. The former India captain is set to assume his role during the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka, where Hardik Pandya is anticipated to lead the team in three T20Is.
Reports suggest that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be rested for the ODIs, considering the packed Test schedule ahead. In such a scenario, KL Rahul is likely to take up the mantle of leading the 50-over squad.
