midst the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, tragedy struck in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district, where terrorists targeted a bus traveling from the Shiv Khori temple to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra. The attack resulted in the loss of nine lives and left 41 others wounded on Sunday.
A social media post by Pakistani fast-bowler Hasan Ali expressing solidarity with the victims of the attack has gained significant traction, quickly becoming viral.
On Tuesday, the Jammu and Kashmir Police unveiled a sketch of a terrorist implicated in the assault on a passenger bus in the Reasi district. They also declared a reward of Rs 20 lakh for any information leading to his whereabouts.
“Reasi police announce a reward of Rs 20 lakh for any fruitful information about the whereabouts of the terrorist involved in the recent attack on the Yatri bus in the area of Pouni,” a police spokesman said.
Eyewitness descriptions were utilized to create a composite sketch of the terrorist, as per the spokesperson, who urged the public to share any pertinent information.
Security forces intensified their pursuit of the attackers following the incident, with 11 teams deployed and a comprehensive perimeter established around the Ranso-Poni-Treyath area, according to officials.
The fast bowler is absent from the current Pakistan squad competing in the T20 World Cup 2024. After defeats to the USA and traditional rivals India, the 2009 champions face the prospect of an unexpected elimination in the group stage.
Their first victory came against Canada, and they aim for a decisive win against Ireland while banking on other teams’ outcomes to bolster Babar Azam’s team’s chances.
