The International Cricket Council announced on Tuesday that India will face West Indies and South Africa in their warm-up matches for the Women’s T20 World Cup in Dubai. India is scheduled to play against West Indies on September 29 and will take on South Africa on October 1.
All 10 teams that have qualified for the Women’s T20 World Cup will engage in these practice games, with each team scheduled to play two warm-up matches.
The warm-up matches will commence on September 28, with Pakistan playing Scotland and Sri Lanka going up against Bangladesh.
Defending champion Australia will square off against arch-rival England on September 29, followed by a match against West Indies on October 1, both in Dubai.
These 20-over per side warm-up games will not have international T20 status, permitting teams to utilize all members of their 15-player squads.
Teams from the same group will not face each other during the warm-up round.
India is placed in Group A with Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, while Group B includes England, South Africa, West Indies, Scotland, and Bangladesh.
The competition, beginning October 3, was relocated to the UAE by the ICC due to the ongoing political unrest in Bangladesh, the original host.
