Yograj Singh, father of legendary India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, has once again criticized MS Dhoni, this time attributing Chennai Super Kings’ loss in IPL 2024 to Dhoni’s supposed bad karma. In a recent video, Yograj labeled Dhoni as jealous and claimed that his negative vibes contributed to the team’s defeat.
This isn’t the first instance of Yograj Singh targeting the iconic India captain. Previously, he had sharply criticized Dhoni following India’s loss in the 2019 ODI World Cup semi-final against New Zealand. Back then, Yograj had alleged that Dhoni deliberately slowed down his batting because he didn’t want any other captain to win the World Cup.
‘Whatever you sow, so shall you reap’ – Yograj Singh on CSK elimination from 2024 IPL
A widely circulated video on social media features Yograj Singh discussing why Chennai Super Kings didn’t emerge victorious in IPL 2024. In the video, Yograj Singh referenced statements purportedly made by Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir, attributing the team’s performance to MS Dhoni’s alleged jealousy. Alongside these comments, Yograj also congratulated his son for his role as the ICC ambassador for the current T20 World Cup 2024.
“The whole world is saying it. Gautam Gambhir and Rohit Sharma are also saying it. CSK lost IPL 2024. Why did they lose? It’s simple—whatever you sow, so shall you reap,” Yograj said.
“Yuvraj Singh is the ICC Ambassador, hats off to him! And this jealous Dhoni, where is he? He didn’t even shake hands with Yuvraj, and that is the reason why CSK failed this year,” he added.
Yograj Singh commented on India’s prospects in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, suggesting that India’s chances of winning are higher now that MS Dhoni is not part of the team.
“As an Indian, I want India to win. India should win the World Cup now that MS Dhoni is not there,” the former India player mentioned.
India continues their dominant streak in the T20 World Cup 2024, remaining unbeaten as they secure a spot in the semifinals in impressive fashion. The Men in Blue have maintained a flawless record, triumphing over every opponent they’ve faced thus far and standing alongside South Africa as the only undefeated teams in the tournament.
India kicked off their campaign with a convincing victory against Ireland and followed it up with a hard-fought win over Pakistan, showcasing exceptional bowling prowess under pressure.
In the Super 8 stage, India faced a determined challenge from USA but secured their place with a resilient performance. They further elevated their game by comfortably defeating Afghanistan and Bangladesh in successive matches.
In their final Super 8 encounter, India comfortably dispatched Australia, winning by 24 runs on a batting-friendly pitch. Despite notable efforts from Travis Head, who scored 76 off 43 balls, Australia struggled to support him adequately. Rohit Sharma was awarded Player of the Match for his outstanding innings of 92 runs off 41 balls, featuring 7 fours and 8 sixes.
While India appears well-rounded in most aspects, attention might turn to the form of Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja as a potential area of concern. Both players hold pivotal roles in India’s white-ball strategies, and their performance will be crucial in the upcoming semi-final and potentially the final.
With India advancing to a critical stage where mistakes could be costly, they cannot afford any further setbacks. The next challenge for India is against England in the second semi-final, scheduled for June 27 at Providence Stadium in Guyana.
