The Indian National Cricket Team will miss the presence of Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, and Yashasvi Jaiswal in the initial two T20Is against the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team. The trio, who featured in the T20 World Cup 2024 squad, are unlikely to arrive in Zimbabwe in time for the first match due to delays in the team’s departure from the Caribbean caused by a storm. They will first return to India and are expected to join the squad in Zimbabwe a few days later.

As replacements, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has included Sai Sudharsan, Jitesh Sharma, and Harshit Rana. The remainder of the Indian squad has already departed for Zimbabwe, with the trio anticipated to join them shortly for the upcoming matches. BCCI issued an official statement confirming these developments.

“The Men’s Selection Committee has named Sai Sudharsan, Jitesh Sharma and Harshit Rana as replacements for Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube and Yashasvi Jaiswal for the first two T20ls against Zimbabwe.

Originally slated to join the Zimbabwe-bound squad for the upcoming five-match T201 series starting Saturday, 6th July, the trio will travel to India first with the rest of the ICC T20 World Cup-winning Indian squad before departing for Harare.”
