Indiaโs performance in last edition
In the 2023 Women’s T20 World Cup, held in South Africa, India faced a narrow five-run loss to Australia in the first semifinal.
India began their campaign with a seven-wicket victory over Pakistan, followed by a six-wicket win against the 2016 champions, the West Indies. Despite an 11-run defeat to England in their third match, India rebounded by overcoming Ireland in their final group-stage game, securing a spot in the semifinals.
Indiaโs top performance in the Womenโs T20 World Cup came during the 2020 edition, held in Australia. In that tournament, India won four consecutive matches to reach the final for the first time ever, but ultimately finished as runners-up.
In the final, held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on March 8, 2020, Meg Lanning and her team defeated India by 85 runs, successfully retaining their title.
