KKR batsman Rinku Singh was thrilled after securing the IPL 2024 title. He expressed that achieving this victory fulfilled one of his dreams and now he is setting his sights on the T20 World Cup 2024.
Rinku Singh, the KKR batsman, fulfilled a significant aspiration by clinching the Indian Premier League title with KKR in 2024. Following the victory, he was elated, seen jubilantly celebrating alongside his teammates at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium on May 26. Speaking to the IPL media team, an emotional Singh expressed that one of his lifelong dreams had finally come true, and now he is determined to pursue success in the T20 World Cup 2024.
In a previous interview, Rinku had revealed his desire to clinch major trophies, highlighting his lack of significant wins since childhood. He expressed a keen interest in securing victory in both the Indian Premier League and the T20 World Cup. On Sunday, under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer, KKR delivered a dominating performance against Pat Cummins’ SRH. In a largely one-sided final, KKR triumphed over SRH by 8 wickets, ending a decade-long wait to lift the IPL trophy.
The IPL shared a video of Rinku after the victory, in which he can be heard enthusiastically exclaiming ‘God’s Plan’ multiple times.
In an interview with the broadcaster following the match, Rinku Singh expressed his elation, stating that his dream had finally been realized. Although Rinku has been associated with KKR for an extended period, it’s only been two years since he has played full seasons with the franchise.
“Outstanding feeling right now. Dream has come true – I have been here for 7 years and we are so happy. Credit to GG sir. I will finally lift the IPL trophy,” Rinku Singh said.
After the game, Rinku was spotted embracing Shah Rukh Khan and expressing that “God’s plan” had ultimately materialized.
Rinku Singh’s absence from India’s 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 came as a surprise to many. However, India’s head coach Rahul Dravid clarified that the decision was made to ensure a more balanced team composition. Despite the initial setback, Rinku is set to join the Indian team in New York on May 28th.
