In a dramatic turn of events during the World Championship of Legends 2024, renowned Indian all-rounders Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan found themselves embroiled in a tense confrontation. The incident unfolded amidst a crucial match against South Africa champions, where miscommunication led to a heated exchange between the two stalwarts.

Despite the intense clash, South Africa emerged victorious over India by a margin of 54 runs in the final league match at Northampton’s County Ground on July 10. Despite this setback, India managed to secure a spot in the semi-finals of the tournament. The Men in Blue concluded their league stage campaign in fourth position among the six participating teams.

Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan had an ugly fight

India, chasing 211 runs, stumbled to 77/5 in 11.3 overs with key batsmen like Robin Uthappa, Naman Ojha, Ambati Rayudu, Yuvraj Singh, and Suresh Raina dismissed. However, Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan staged a rescue effort with a crucial 56-run partnership for the sixth wicket.

During their chase, Dale Steyn bowled the pivotal 19th over. Irfan Pathan attempted a big shot but skied the ball to long-off, where Dane Vilas missed catching it as it bounced. However, a mix-up between Irfan and Yusuf led to Irfan being run out when he was stranded mid-pitch while Yusuf hesitated for the second run. After his dismissal, Irfan was visibly frustrated and was seen confronting Yusuf, which quickly became viral on social media.

Irfan played a significant role in backing his elder brother’s electoral bid in Baharampur, West Bengal, during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He frequently praised his brother’s dedication, emphasizing his ability to efficiently handle domestic duties. Irfan portrayed his brother as a man of action rather than words, underscoring his diligent work ethic.
