Dale Steyn showered praise on South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada for his pivotal performance against England in their T20 World Cup match. Rabada’s spell, where he took two crucial wickets, was instrumental in South Africa’s thrilling victory at the Beausejour Stadium in Gros Islet. Despite defending a total of 163 runs, Rabada maintained an economy rate of 8 runs per over. Steyn, expressing his admiration for Rabada’s performance in a recent social media post, wrote:
Facing a target of 163, England appeared on track for victory in the Super 8 clash as their batsmen accumulated 52 runs between the 15th and 17th overs. However, the momentum shifted decisively in South Africa’s favor in the 18th over, thanks to Kagiso Rabada’s impactful return. The Proteas’ fast bowler began with a dot ball to Liam Livingstone and followed it up with a lower full toss that dismissed Livingstone for 33 runs. Rabada then conceded only four runs in the remaining four deliveries, significantly enhancing his team’s prospects of securing a victory.
