Kedar Jadhav’s career:
Jadhav’s outstanding performances in domestic cricket paved the way for him to secure an IPL contract, and subsequently, he made his international debut for Team India. His IPL journey commenced in 2010 and got off to a flying start, with a notable 29-ball 50 on his debut for Delhi Capitals.
Throughout his IPL career, Jadhav represented various teams, including the defunct Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. After being overlooked in the 2022 and 2023 auctions, he was signed by RCB as an injury replacement in IPL 2023, although he did not feature in any matches that season.
Jadhav’s last appearance in the IPL was in 2021, and he accumulated 1196 runs in 93 matches, with four half-centuries to his name. His impressive showings in the IPL ultimately led to his selection for the Indian national team, where he played in both ODI and T20I formats between 2014 and 2020.
He made his ODI debut in 2014 and T20I debut in 2015. His last ODI appearance was in 2020, while his final T20I outing for India was in 2017.
“Thank you all For your love and support throughout my Career from 1500 hrs. Consider me as retired from all forms of cricket,” Kedar Jadhav said in the post, confirming his retirement on Monday.
It’s worth noting that Kedar Jadhav’s farewell announcement bore a striking resemblance to the retirement post of MS Dhoni, as he too shared a poignant caption accompanied by a timeless Hindi song playing in the background.
