India spinner Kuldeep Yadav has highlighted the pivotal role played by skipper Rohit Sharma in his career resurgence following the T20 World Cup 2024. In an interview with NDTV, Yadav expressed gratitude towards Rohit Sharma for his mentorship and belief in his abilities. He recounted how Sharma’s advice during their interactions at the NCA proved instrumental in refining aspects of his bowling technique. “Absolutely. I mean, I have a lot of love for him. He also loves me a lot. He supported me a lot in tough times. When I was injured, I was in the NCA. I was training for 2-3 days. He told me that he didn’t know how you would do it but when you come back, I want to see the changes I have told you to make in your bowling.’
“Straight away, when I came back from the injury, I came straight into the team. I didn’t even get a chance to play domestic cricket. I was very happy about that. Whenever a player is injured, he plays domestic cricket first.”

“He supported me a lot. He trusted me a lot. Maybe I didn’t trust myself as much. The changes he told me to do and the changes I made, now he doesn’t talk about bowling with me. He talks more about batting. That is also a good thing. I am taking batting very seriously. Hopefully, I will continue to bat well.”
