In its upcoming fifth season, Legends League Cricket is aiming to attract a fresh pool of players and broaden its fan base. Notable retired cricket icons such as AB De Villiers, Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, Dawid Malan, and Stuart Broad are being targeted for participation. Following a successful season in November-December 2023, which saw over 120 players from nine countries participating, the league is scheduled to return in September 2024. Player registrations are currently open.
The upcoming season promises to showcase the best of cricket talent as it entertains fans across various venues in India and Qatar. With a global viewership of 1.56 billion in the previous season, Legends League Cricket aims to surpass expectations by featuring top-notch performances from renowned players. Building upon the success of the last season, which saw six franchises owned by multi-billion dollar groups, the new season is poised to offer even more excitement. Manipal Tigers emerged victorious in the 2023 season, defeating Urbanrisers Hyderabad in the final showdown.
The upcoming season of Legends League Cricket seeks to draw in a new roster of players while also broadening its fan following. In December, the league witnessed the participation of over 120 players from nine nations. With the player draft registration window currently open, there’s an opportunity for even greater player involvement. Prospective players can register via the league’s official website, www.llct20.com. Although players must have played a minimum of 20 List A matches in their home countries, last year’s registration process saw an impressive turnout, with over 400 players from 14 nations signing up for the draft pool.
“We are targeting the best international players to engage with Legends League Cricket for our fans. Top players like Aaron Finch & Suresh Raina played their first series with us post-retirement. With increased participation from across the globe and a star-studded lineup, this tournament is getting bigger and better, with teams playing in cities across India and Qatar. This gives our fans the opportunity to watch their favorite stars live and experience world-class cricket in their own cities. The average age of Legends playing at LLC was around 37 last season. With stars like Suresh Raina, Irfan Pathan, and Aaron Finch, the tournament is definitely attracting a lot of attention,” said Raman Raheja, Co-Founder of Legends League Cricket.
