Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan took a fresh shot at Wasim Jaffer following India’s ODI series loss to Sri Lanka. Vaughan mocked Jaffer, inquiring if he was doing well after the series defeat.
India, led by Rohit Sharma, suffered a 2-0 series loss to Sri Lanka, despite fielding a full-strength team. The Indian team struggled throughout the series, failing to cope with Sri Lankan spinners and regularly losing wickets. The series marked Sri Lanka’s first ODI series win over India since 1997.
The standout performer for India was captain Rohit Sharma, who remained composed and aggressive despite the conditions at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Sharma scored two half-centuries in the first two matches and added a quick 35 in the third.
On August 11, Wasim Jaffer hosted a Q&A session on Twitter, inviting fans to send their questions, promising to respond straightforwardly.
“Been a long time since we did this. Let’s do an #AskWasim. Fire away and I’ll try to play with a straight bat :)”
Replying to this, former England cricketer Michael Vaughan took a dig at Wasim Jaffer. He asked the Ranji Trophy legend about the result of the series between India and Sri Lanka, saying that he was away and hoped everything was fine. He stated:
“Hi, Wasim .. What was the recent ODI series result in Sri Lanka? I have been away and missed it .. Hope all is well”
I’ll put it in Ashes terms for you – Wasim Jaffer’s reply to Michael Vaughan
Wasim Jaffer, however, didn’t take long to reply to Michael Vaughan and troll the former England international. He said that India won as many games as England won in Australia in the last 12 years. He elaborated:
“I’ll put it in Ashes terms for you Michael. Ind won as many games in that series as the Tests Eng have won in Aus in last 12 years.”
Michael Vaughan and Wasim Jaffer have always engaged in banter over various things. They leave no stone unturned in taking a jibe at each other and giving entertainment to the fans.
