The South Africa cricket team achieved a convincing 40-run win over the West Indies in the second and final Test of their series.
Following this triumph, South Africa has advanced in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 standings. The team successfully defended a 263-run target at Providence Stadium in Guyana on August 17 (local time).
In the West Indies’ second innings, Keshav Maharaj claimed three wickets, with Kagiso Rabada also taking three. Wiaan Mulder and Dane Piedt contributed with two wickets each.

India leads the World Test Championship table, with Australia, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka following. Pakistan is in sixth place, ahead of England, Bangladesh, and the West Indies.
The top two teams will qualify for the WTC final, scheduled to be held at Lord’s in London in 2025.
