Indian spinner Ravi Bishnoi showered praise on T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav and vice-captain Shubman Gill, crediting them for their invaluable support. Bishnoi delivered an outstanding performance in the second T20I against Sri Lanka.
After his impressive three-wicket haul, Bishnoi highlighted the significant influence of Surya and Gill on his performance. “Suryakumar is doing great captaincy. I have played under him during the Australia series as well. He has been good. Shubman Gill’s captaincy was also great. In Zimbabwe, we also did great as a captain. They always back me and as a bowler, you cannot ask for anything more than this,” he said at the press conference, as per India Today.
Expanding on the topic, Ravi Bishnoi discussed his close relationship with the newly appointed India head coach, Gautam Gambhir. “I am sharing a great bond with Gautam Gambhir as he has been with LSG for two years,” Bishnoi said.
The spinner also added by saying, “He has not asked me to change anything as such. He has told me to do what I am doing currently. His advice was useful to me earlier as well, and now too.”
Ravi Bishnoi showcased his prowess with figures of 3/26 in his four-over spell against Sri Lanka during the second T20I. His outstanding performance earned him the Player of the Match award. Playing a pivotal role after India opted to bowl first, Bishnoi made an impact by taking the initial wicket for his team.
In the fourth over, he safely completed a catch to dismiss Kusal Mendis. Later, in the 10th over, Bishnoi claimed Pathum Nissanka’s wicket with an lbw decision. His impressive bowling haul proved decisive as India secured a comprehensive seven-wicket victory, thereby clinching the series with an unassailable 2-0 lead.
Ravi Bishnoi contributed significantly in their T20I opener on July 27, registering figures of 1/37 in his four overs. He claimed the crucial wicket of Sri Lanka skipper Charith Asalanka during that match. Looking ahead to the final T20I scheduled for today, July 30, Bishnoi aims to replicate his earlier performance with another impactful display.
