With conviction, the two-time World Cup winner singled out Kohli as the potential top run-scorer of the T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and Caribbean, pointing to his outstanding performance in the recent IPL 2024.

Kohli’s stellar performance in IPL 2024 earned him the prestigious Orange Cap, marking him as the tournament’s leading run-scorer with an impressive tally of 741 runs for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Furthermore, Kohli holds the distinction of being the highest run-getter in T20 World Cup history, amassing 1141 runs across 27 matches since his debut in 2012.
Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh expressed his anticipation to witness the dynamic wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant showcase his skills for the Indian team in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. Pant’s return to action during IPL 2024, after recuperating from significant injuries sustained in a car accident in December 2022, has heightened expectations of his impact.
The left-handed batsman is poised to be a potential game-changer for India in the prestigious ICC event, as evidenced by his explosive fifty in the warm-up match against Bangladesh in New York. Pant’s remarkable IPL 2024 campaign saw him accumulate 446 runs at an impressive average of 50 and a striking strike rate of 155 in 13 appearances for the Delhi Capitals (DC).
Ahead of India’s clash against Ireland in the T20 World Cup 2024 in New York on June 5, Yuvraj expressed eagerness for Pant’s comeback, acknowledging the challenges he faced while recuperating from a significant injury.

Yuvraj Sigh, an ICC ambassador for T20 World Cup 2024, said at the launch of a Fan Park in New York as reported by PTI, “I am looking forward to the return of Rishabh, he is coming back from a massive injury. And leading run-getter seems like Virat Kohli, he’s had a very good IPL.”
He was also optimistic about India’s chances to win the T20 World Cup 2024. Yuvraj added, “I just feel that we played the World Cup 2007 final and we’ve been the qualifying semis and I think it’s just a matter of time…I believe we have the self-belief of winning big tournaments. I think if India believes and backs themselves and play to their own strengths, I’m sure they’ll go all the way. And that’s what I believe in.”
