Team India secured a convincing 50-run victory over Bangladesh in their Super Eight match of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024 on Saturday (June 22). This win has placed India in a strong position to qualify for the semi-finals.
India’s potential qualification for the semi-final could be confirmed on Sunday (June 23) if Australia manages to defeat Afghanistan. India continued their unbeaten streak in the tournament by thoroughly dominating Bangladesh.
Batting first, India posted their highest total of the current T20 World Cup, finishing at 196 for 5. Hardik Pandya played a pivotal role with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 50 off 27 deliveries, featuring four boundaries and three sixes.
In response, Bangladesh could only manage 146 for 8 in their allotted overs. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto top-scored with 40 runs. Kuldeep Yadav starred with the ball for India, claiming 3 wickets, while Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah contributed with 2 wickets each.

Despite not posting big individual scores in the recent game, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have enhanced their standing in the list of India’s most successful partnerships. As the current and former captains respectively, they have now become only the fourth Indian pair to surpass the 7500-run mark in international cricket.
The iconic duo of Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly leads this elite list with a staggering 12400 runs accumulated together. Following closely are Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid, who amassed 11037 runs, while Ganguly and Dravid occupy the third spot with 7626 runs.
