Rohit Sharma’s on-field charisma never fails to entertain. Whether he’s batting or fielding, the Indian captain brings a unique blend of humor and leadership to the game.
On August 7, during the third ODI against Sri Lanka at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Rohit Sharma was once again in top form, showing off his playful side. As India aimed to limit Sri Lanka’s total in this crucial match, Sharma decided to motivate his bowlers with a touch of humor.
Known for his exceptional leadership, Rohit Sharma demonstrated his ability to uplift his team by using a Sinhala phrase to encourage his bowlers. In the seventh over of Sri Lanka’s innings, while Axar Patel was bowling, Sharma was heard using a phrase that translates to ‘That’s right, that’s right’ in English. Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant couldn’t help but smile at his captain’s lighthearted encouragement.

As of the latest update, Sri Lanka were at 93 for 1 in the 22nd over of the third ODI. The hosts, who won the toss, chose to bat first once more. Pathum Nissanka and Avishka Fernando put together a solid 89-run partnership for the first wicket, justifying their decision to bat. Axar Patel ended their stand by dismissing Nissanka for 45 runs in the 20th over.
At the time of writing, Fernando and Kusal Mendis were at the crease for Sri Lanka. With the hosts leading the series 1-0, a victory in this match would secure them a notable series win.
India, who have not lost a bilateral ODI series against Sri Lanka since 1997, are aiming to win this game to maintain their unbeaten streak.
