India’s Test and ODI captain, Rohit Sharma, is poised to reach a significant milestone in the upcoming second ODI against Sri Lanka. He is on the verge of surpassing former India head coach Rahul Dravid in the list of top run-scorers for India in ODI cricket.
Rohit Sharma made a notable return to competitive cricket in the first ODI against Sri Lanka after a month-long break. At the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on August 2, Sharma scored 58 runs off 47 balls, including seven fours and three sixes.
Despite Sharma’s strong performance, the Indian team could not secure a win. They were all out for 230 in 47.5 overs while chasing a target of 231. The series opener ended in a tie, and the teams will clash again on August 4 at the same venue.
