During India’s ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 match against Australia at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in St Lucia, Rohit Sharma expressed his displeasure with wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant. 

After India set a formidable total of 205 runs, Arshdeep Singh provided an excellent start by dismissing David Warner for 6 runs in the first over. 

In the following over, Jasprit Bumrah had an opportunity to take another wicket, but Rishabh Pant, keeping behind the stumps, missed a chance. Mitchell Marsh faced a rising delivery from Bumrah, which induced an awkward shot resulting in a glove to the left of Pant. It appeared to be a straightforward catch for Pant, but he lost his footing slightly, failing to commit fully, and the ball landed safely.

Rohit Sharma, witnessing the missed opportunity, was furious as he anticipated a crucial early wicket. However, seeing the chance slip away, he reacted angrily, admonishing and scolding Pant for the missed opportunity.
