Sachin Tendulkar playfully poked fun at Pakistan as India delivered a clutch performance against their long-standing rivals at the T20 World Cup. Despite a lackluster batting display, the Men in Blue rallied in the second half to secure a crucial 6-run triumph over the finalists from the 2022 edition. Sachin, who was present at the Nassau Country International Cricket Stadium during the intense encounter on June 9, could be seen cheering for the Rohit Sharma-led team from the stands alongside his wife Anjali and daughter Sara Tendulkar. After India’s victory, Sachin took to Instagram to share a picture of the Indian team. He then wrote, “India vs Pakistan. New continent, same result.”

Reflecting on the match, Sachin Tendulkar emphasized the pivotal role played by the Indian bowlers on the New York pitch. In his remarks, the Master Blaster underscored that while the T20 format traditionally favors batsmen, it didn’t hinder the Indian bowlers from dismantling Pakistan’s batting lineup. “T20 may be a batters’ game, but in New York, bowlers were the Apple of our eyes today.” Sachin also commended the atmosphere at the stadium saying, “What a thrilling match! Great atmosphere and a wonderful exhibition of our great game in America. Well played, India.”

Joining Sachin Tendulkar in celebrating India’s memorable victory, former Indian batting maestro Virender Sehwag also expressed his joy with a celebratory post following the win in New York. Putting a spin on Shah Rukh Khan’s famous dialogue from the blockbuster movie “Baazigar,” Sehwag wrote,“Haar se jitane waale ko Bumrah kehte hain. What a fabulous spell and a very special win in New York.”

Suresh Raina gave a shout-out to team India’s “great character and hunger to win against Pakistan.”

India, living up to their reputation as the top-ranked T20I team globally, showcased their prowess on Sunday. Despite a lackluster batting performance, the Men in Blue staged a remarkable comeback in the latter half to secure a narrow victory. Their next challenge awaits against co-hosts United States on June 12.
