Veteran Zimbabwean all-rounder Sikandar Raza recently shared his wish to have played alongside some legendary international cricketers. As the T20I captain of the Zimbabwean team, Raza also named the bowler he would have preferred to avoid facing.
Known for his prowess in both batting and bowling, the 38-year-old Raza has been a key figure in Zimbabwean cricket, especially in white-ball formats. Although he debuted in all three formats, he has made his mark primarily in limited-overs cricket.

Sikandar Raza recently held a Q&A session with fans on social media X (formerly known as Twitter) on Saturday, August 3. During the chat, he answered many questions from users. Farid Khan, whose profile says that he’s a sports content creator, asked an interesting question.
Farid Khan asked Sikandar Raza about cricketers he wished he had played with and bowlers from the 80s or 90s he would have liked to face.
Raza mentioned he would have liked to share a dressing room with Grant Flower, Sachin Tendulkar, and Saeed Anwar. He expressed his desire to have been in Shoaib Akhtar’s team to see him in his team, as he would never have to face him.
“A cricketer from the past you wished you had shared dressing room with and any bowler from the 90s or 80s you wished you could face?” Farid Khan asked.
“Grant Flower , Sachin Tendulkar and Saeed Anwar I wished to be in Shoaib Akhtar’s team and see him in his full flow , never to have faced him tho,” Raza replied.
All Skills Needs To Be Practiced – Sikandar Raza
In response to a question about his success in both batting and bowling, Sikandar Raza emphasized the importance of hard work and dedication. Raza noted that none of the abilities come naturally and all require consistent practice.
“How can be a player be so good in both Batting or Bowling, Which one takes more training and which one comes naturally to you ?” another user asked.
“Be the first at the ground and be the last one to leave and spend time on both departments Nothing comes natural to me , all skills needs to be practiced,” Raza said.
Sikandar Raza has played 17 Tests, 142 ODIs, and 91 T20I matches. The right-handed batter has scored more than 7,000 runs in all three formats. He has smashed eight centuries and 43 half-centuries in international cricket. He has taken 45 wickets in Tests, 88 wickets in ODIs, and 66 in T20 Internationals.
The Pakistan-born cricketer is currently playing for the Manchester Originals in The Hundred. He has registered scores of 13, 21, and 13 in his three matches so far. He took wickets for 29 runs against the Trent Rockets.
